• life • thoughts after losing a loved one this past weekend: i’m so grateful to be alive, but i’m looking forward to a better future. one with no sickness, no violence and no death. Jehovah God promises he will wipe out every tear from our eyes, and death, mourning, outcries and pain will be no more. it seems far fetched that we can live in a world like that but i take solace in the fact that God doesn’t lie. hold on to your hope ladies and gents. there’s no point to life without it. #mjshotit #iamjendayi

• life • i know the pain of not having good girlfriends as an adult. it’s not something that we as adults seem to talk about, but today, i’ll share that after time, space and growth forced a large distance between me and some of my old mains, i feel extremely blessed to find the gems i have in my life. we’re always talking about “girl gangs” and “tribes” on social media and in life, but if you pulled back the veil, i doubt there are as many tribes out there as it seems. there are many grown women out here still wishing they had a joan-toni-maya-lynn circle to call their own. while i may have a group of friends who value the same things i value at this moment, i’m very cognizant of the fact that all you really need is one - one good friend, one good human being, one amazing person to share your experiences, thoughts and feelings with. friends are a gift from Jehovah God, so take this as encouragement to tell your friend(s) how much you care for them OR to be vulnerable and reach out to someone you’ve been wanting to kick it with. just message them and say, “girl, i’m tryna kick it with you” a la beyoncé! shoot your shot! you never know what connection could come of it. say AMEN by tagging your tribe or someone you’d like to get to know better! #girlgang #mytribe #sisterhood #mjshotit
